Slytherclaw’s Treasure Feature #13

I've been enamored with dark academia atmosphere lately (more than usual, coz thankfully now I've got the full space to put in all the decors!), and to get into it deeper I finally decided to do my most expensive book-shopping for the year: an original copy of The Secret History by Donna Tartt, with its classic edition cover seen everywhere on Pinterest for USD $13.5 lol!

At first, I tried looking for the e-version in Play Store, but then I realized that for this one I just have to have the hard copy coz now it's not just about acquiring knowledge, getting enlighted or just having fun mentally. This time I'm after the whole tactile pleasure of experiencing a book!

The major inspirations were the videos by R.C. Waldun, even though I wasn't actually intrigued by their content. I think it's his overall enthusiasm for learning - I can sense how I too can tap into that GENUINE PLEASURE in reading.

To read for reading's own sake. Like, to live for life's own sake.

The pure joy of EXPERIENCE!

Can't remember when was my last time savoring reading a book just for the fun of it vs just getting a specific knowledge or skimming the simplified essence via those "book summary" apps! Can't believe I just discovered there's such thing as pure love for reading: to savor the flow of words, to get lost in imagination, to ride along the story's ups and downs! I'm now even enjoying learning new words as well, as I have my dictionary app nearby. I mean, despite my natural inclination to learning and moderate self-discipline, I still get bored sometimes but somehow not anymore at this moment!

It's as if my judgmental ego has taken a back seat for a while.. maybe this is what they call the flow state? Maybe this is how we're meant to LIVE, not just when reading, working, etc..? I thought I've grasped & practiced (kinda 70-95% of the time) the "Carpe Diem" philosophy, apparently there are still branches / depths I haven't explored!

Thanks so much o' Universe for this amazing moment of the real delight of reading!

Thanks so much that I can afford the books!

Thanks so much that I can afford particularly this "The Secret History" book!

Thanks so much that I can afford EVERYTHING ELSE supporting this experience, MATERIAL & IMMATERIAL god Ima feeling so already like a billionaire I can't even..!!

PS:

"Reading for reading's sake."

Wonder if I can apply this practice to EVERYTHING I'm doing (including writing this post coz I still felt it as a chore / to-do list to cross off, haha..)!!

..until it finally becomes living for life's sake..!!

And I think I could write a whole book on this!

Slytherclaw’s Treasure Feature #12

Sooo happy for my newly bought logo - time to put it on stuff! OMG it looks so goooood even as my Android wallpaper, ye gotta admit it, huehue..

Then when I found a super cool custom wooden pencil case online, I knew I just had to carve my brand in these too. And here it is, they finished perfectly in 7 days + shipping. Mon Dieu.. c'est MAGNIFIQUE, muy muy MAGNIFICO, n'est-ce pas!!

Slytherclaw Padawan is "on"!

I feel like I'm in one of those beautiful hotel in Marrakesh.. where I stayed a few nights in room full of exotic furniture and decors like those Moroccan lamps aaaaah..!

As far as I explore online, this wooden pencil case product is still rare so I thought, why not get two? This time I simply took their original design, and here they are - now I really feel like I'm in Marrakesh exploring their pretty Moorish gardens wahooo..!

With the pandemic and everything, the transports out of town and abroad are still limited at least at my place, not to mention in times like this it's much wiser to save a LOT first before going for occasional travels. These days I've been longing for walks + photo hunting in gardens, especially large ones with hedge maze and of course with castles in the center!

But just as it is, there are still TONS, UNCOUNTABLE bliss personally I'm super grateful for BEYOND REASON, including the pleasant discovery of this stunning wooden work with affordable price (AND every single supporting condition within and without / around for me to actually enjoy these) - o' Universe thanks so much!

And so while I'm savoring this lovely wooden art, Ima totoally allow myself to envision me out there staying in faraway countries with unique cultures, strolling in their colorful gardens, courtyards, and mazes, exploring their castles (and bring home a few antiques) - o' generous and miraculous Universe thanks so much, thanks so much, thanks so much IN ADVANCE!! Hehehee..

Slytherclaw Padawan WILL have been wuz here!

Meanwhile I'm preparing my stamina by weekday jogs and exercises - Marrakesh, Andalusia (Alhambra, Granada, Cordoba, etc), Toledo, here I coome..!

Slytherclaw's Treasure Feature #11

Just happy about my new, personal, DIY Everbook! The smooth, doft genuine cow leather.. I feel like I've become somewhat a different person with this milestone of a journal, haha..

Everbook is a way to organize my projects in a loose way, so far I found this the most effective & efficient non-digital method for a random brain like me to keep up with everything. Aside from me haven't bought another smartphone after it's stolen almost a year ago I also prefer to have an analog system, handwritten journals for this, just love the feel of it.

If you're familiar with Evernote app you can see the name was derived from there. The creator of the system is apparently a busy pastor who's got lots of things going LOL. I found this when searching for some best journaling methods on Youtube. Really love the simplicity and efficiency, not to mention the slick-antique-rustic look of the leather cover, aaah..!

But you can replace the leather cover with anything else works for you. You can create for yourself if you want, the instructions are here:

Moar photos of mah "Captain's Everlog"! arrrr pirate

Nope. Don't like this book.  Feather Icon
